Word of the Month: Positive Attitude
One of the ways our karate studio stands out is that we have a full Comprehensive Character Development Program. We discuss different life skills and how to begin finding them in your daily life.
This month we are talking about having a “Positive Attitude.” Thinking, feeling, and acting in an optimistic manner in the face of challenges is having a positive attitude. We want to teach the students to become “good-finders” when they face challenges.
People with positive attitudes do many things. They will:
- Look forward.
- Show confidence in who they are and what they can do.
- See opportunities and possibilities.
- See failure as temporary and something to learn from.
- Believe they are in control of their destiny.
We will be talking about how students can change how they talk to themselves and adjust their actions to better show a positive attitude. In fact, a positive attitude can turn your day around, make you feel better, help you discover coping skills during stressful times, and much more.
This month we will be discussing:
- How to define a positive vs. negative attitude.
- How thoughts and feelings affect a positive attitude.
- How our attitude affects how we act.
- How to choose our attitude.
We want to give students the chance to learn how to be positive so that as challenges arise, they can better face them. Please keep us posted on how your child is applying what they are learning about “positive attitude” this month.
See you on the mat!
